KSC made the first special transport with a Volvo FH Electric

Last week, the company from Oradea, KSC Transport carried out the first special transport in Romania with an electric Volvo FH truck. KSC transported the collection of Giorgio Butini sculptures from Florence to Cantacuzino Castle in Bușteni, where the works of art will be exhibited until October 29, 2023. The exhibition "Giorgio Butini.Il mito" is built around a monumental marble sculpture, over two meters high, depicting the myth of the flight of Icarus, created especially for Cantacuzino Castle.

The part of the route in Romania was made by KSC with the help of a Volvo FH Electric tractor, borrowed for testing by Volvo Trucks Romania. The project was mediated by the organizer of the exhibition, Original Media.

Apart from the main artwork, which measures 2.55 meters high and has a wingspan of 390 centimeters, the shipment also included 26 other sculptures made of white marble, bronze, slate or acrylic, mainly representing deities.

Due to the relatively low weight of the load (about 7 tons), the electric truck had a very good consumption and could reach an autonomy of more than 420 km without charging the batteries. "I'm interested in the subject of electrification, I want to have a future-oriented company", Sebastian Kiss, managing director of KSC Transport, told us.

The company from Oradea offers national and international freight transport services, with the help of its own fleet of 100 tractors and almost 200 semi-trailers. Also, an important part of the company's races are made by collaborating traction drivers.
